Dallas Morning News endorses Obama

Wow - the Dallas Morning News just endorsed Obama for all the best possible reasons. I hope this helps him on Tuesday. My favorite part:

On questions of substance and leadership style, Mr. Obama is the better choice.

In sharp contrast to Mrs. Clinton's antics mocking his optimism, Mr. Obama has shown that it is possible to have both hope and intellectual heft. Her campaign has confused proximity to power with work experience, selectively taking credit for her husband's accomplishments.

I'm so glad they mentioned that it's possible to have both "hope and intellectual heft". The discussions always seem to assume that you can have one or the other, but not both.

They compare the views of each and end with:
All in all, Mr. Obama offers Texas Democrats the best choice for leadership, for judgment - and for substance.

I think that the critical distinction is (none / 0)

Her campaign has confused proximity to power with work experience, selectively taking credit for her husband's accomplishments.
If, in particular, she wants to claim those 8 years as part of her "35 years", then she has to take NAFTA and her failure at getting national level health care done.

Yes, she tried while Bill was in office, but the bottom line is that she failed for a myriad of reasons, including her own secrecy and arrogance during the process.

Chris Dodd:  "It was a major effort that failed. There were a lot of reasons that it failed, not the least of which it was mismanaged terribly at the time." (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2975 11,00.html)

ABC News: "It was one of the most spectacular defeats in legislative history -- a 1,342-page disaster that became a symbol of arrogance and unwieldy bureaucracy, and contributed in large part to the Democrats' loss of the House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. " (http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/story?id=36 10027&page=1)

Guess I HR'd someone that I shouldn't have (wish I knew who/how/why, but no admin will talk to me). Have a positive thought instead.
